WORD FOR TODAY. CJM

WORD FOR TODAY. CJM

Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 2 Timothy 4:2-4 (NIV)

Most people don’t mind hearing God’s Word, but when they don’t like to hear His WHOLE truth, problems arise (Jeremiah 26 & Romans 1:16-32). What happens is – they want to hear the parts of God’s Word they believe in, not the ones they don’t want to deal with. Or they just want to hear about the passages that make them feel good, such as love one another, be kind and tenderhearted and so on. However, when a teacher comes along and says, yes, love one another, but love your enemy as well because God tells you to. That is just too uncomfortable. So they find teachers that make them feel spiritual instead of ones that teach them how to live.

History shows when God’s word is truly taught and lived out, there is revival in that person, church, area or nation. This makes sense because God created us and knows what’s best for us. When God’s Word isn’t taught accurately, people define what is right by their own standards. So in most cases they call what is clearly wrong, right.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!
