SCRIPTURE LESSON FOR TODAY

Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in His commands. Psalms 112:1

In Psalms 112, the writer describes the blessings to those who fear the Lord and delight in His commands. The list is long: Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever. (Psalms 112:2-3)

Being upright means acting with integrity. It is described in the Bible as following God with singular focus. They walk securely with God (Proverbs 10:9), they are guarded by righteousness (Proverbs 11:3), and bring shame upon those who oppose them (Titus 2:7-8). Their witness blesses the generations that follow them.
